Remember the sheer joy and innocence of childhood—those precious days we thought would never end? It was a time when life was simple, trusting and free of the world’s problems. We spoke from our hearts, not our minds. We giggled, laughed, and played like there was. My objective is to capture on film the curiosity, honesty and playfulness of children and share these nostalgic emotions with the world. The photographs convey their innocence in lighthearted adult situtions, with precocious, humorous captions their momma might be more likely to say. Each child is uniquely special. I become the observer, artfully depicting their individual personalities and spontaneous gestures. I embarked on this journey in a round-about way. Always having a love for art and creativity, I found a fascination with the camera. I would photograph just about anything, from shoes to teddy bears to the Golden Gate Bridge. I went on to become a successful portrait photographer in the San Francisco Bay area, as well as an award-winning commercial photographer. But then something remarkable happened that changed my life forever. The birth of my beautiful Like all kids, she loved to dress up and play pretend. So, I had an idea. I began to create fine art photos of children doing just that and was amazed at how people were drawn to them. If I’m showing prints to someone in a restaurant, strangers will come up and ask where they can buy them. “There’s just something about their purity…” I hear from people. For more than a decade I’ve showcased these whimsical photographs in an annual Age of Innocence Calendar. Clients tell me they can’t wait for the next year’s edition. One said, “I love the first of the month so I can turn the page to a new, adorable child.” At the end of the year, many cut out the photos and frame them. Over the years, clients have asked for more ways to enjoy Age of Innocence photographs. I expanded the line to include frameable, themed Note Cards, Matted Prints and a new series of Limited Edition Wood-Mounted Prints, ideal for homes and businesses. Enjoy! And keep the spirit of innocence alive in your hearts always. That’s what Age of Innocence represent
